Empowered & Released – Lisa McKenney
You are destine for greatness.
Romans 9:17 (NIV) says, “…I raised you up for this very purpose [EIS], that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” The Greek word for purpose is EIS. By definition it means: Towards. A marker of purpose. Moving forward towards a result or goal.
My passion and hope is that you would see and believe the truth about who you are and that God has marked you with a purpose to make a difference on this earth.
May God move upon your heart as you read this the story of Lisa McKenney, a woman who is empowered and released.
Angela Craig: How have you been empowered to walk out your calling?
Lisa McKenney: As I have listened to Jesus and stepped out with knees trembling to say Yes to His calling on my life He has provided to the courage, strength, vision, and resources! This verse has been a great encouragement to me: The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]! Habbakuk 3:19 (Amplified)
Angela Craig: How have you been released to practically live out your calling?
Lisa McKenney: Every season my calling looks a little different from the last depending on the needs of my family and the stirrings of my heart. There have been seasons where I started a MOPS group, lead Women’s Ministries, facilitated Bible studies and designed jewelry. My desire is to be used by God and truly serve Him in whatever capacity He calls me. To offer Him every talent, passion and ability to be used on His rescue mission on earth! I love this quote by Erma Bombeck and I share her heart’s desire… “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything you gave me.”
Love this interview with Lisa. What struck me as I read both your questions and Lisa’s answers is the need to know what God has given us to do. Though I don’t think anything we do is waisted, my desire is to do what He has designed me for. I spent to many years spinning my wheels, with all the ministry chouces out there and the vasts needs that people have, I honestly had no clue what I was designed to do until a few years ago. I want to be emptied as well and have come to understand that I have to be willing to let go of many things, including fear, so God can pour out of me. 🙂
